If you’ve been reading this blog you know about my tenuous relationship with sushi. We’ve definitely got some issues, but at the end of the day we really do love each other and I think we can work this thing out. I consider Yama our relationship counselor and can tell you all that though I’ve only been to a few sessions, it’s helped tremendously. I'm really hopefull that soon, sushi and I will be able to laugh again. Sigh.
Yama Asian Fusion is located in the Southpark area of Charlotte, in a decidedly fancy shopping center. It’s the kind of place where they recognize you your second time back, and I like that. So far, I’ve enjoyed a Spicy Tuna Roll, some sort of Rainbow Roll with Salmon, a Filet Roll with salmon, and even an asparagus/scallop roll. They have all been delicious, and I don’t even like scallops! One item I would stay away from are the dumplings, but only because they are about $6 and the size of buffalo nickels. Overall, Yama’s just a tad expensive, but it really is worth it for the quality of the food. Seriously, I never understood what people meant when they talked about “fresh” sushi until I came here. I also heard a rumor that you can BYOB, which is, you know, pretty fun, and they’ve got a great take out service as well. If you live in Charlotte and like yourself some raw seafood products, you really need to check Yama out.
